Asia Africa


Do you know Asia Africa Conference?
Or High Level Conference of Asia-Africa is a high-level conference between the countries of Asia and Africa, the most recently obtained independence. KTT is organized by Indonesia, Myanmar (formerly Burma), Sri Lanka (formerly Ceylon), India and Pakistan, and coordinated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Indonesia Roeslan Abdulgani. The meeting was held between 18 April-24 April 1955, in Gedung Merdeka, Bandung, Indonesia with the aim of promoting economic cooperation and culture of Asia-Africa and against colonialism or neokolonialisme United States, the Soviet Union, or other imperialist countries.

29 countries representing more than half of the total population of the world to send representatives. This conference reflects what they view as un-willing forces West to consult with them about decisions that affect Asia in the Cold War; their concerns about the tension between the People's Republic of China and the United States; their desire to expand the foundation for peaceful relations between China and the party with their West; their resistance against colonialism, especially French influence in North Africa and French colonial powers in Algeria, Indonesia and the desire to promote their rights in contravention with the Netherlands on West Irian.

10 points of this meeting and then in a so-called Dasasila Bandung, which contains about "a statement on support for world peace and cooperation." Bandung Dasasila include this principle in the UN Charter and the principles of Nehru.

The conference finally brought to create building the Non Blok-Movement in 1961.
